Description

The successful applicant will be part of the EAPD Integration Solution team and based in Bangkok. The main mission is to support Engineering, Sales and Bid Management functions within RCS and SEA to identify and develop DFM, LCC, Service opportunities from initial customer contact through product development, bid, and project mobilization phases for wayside scopes (Traction Power, Communications, SCADA, Guideway / Track, Signalling, Depot Equipment, Platform Screen Doors, etc…).

·Provide support to develop wayside systems platform in all aspects of maintenance, including; principles, strategies to maximize Service opportunities and Total Cost of Ownership evaluation

·Provide wayside maintenance technical support to Sales function during identification phases of potential Service opportunities

·Utilize practical knowledge of wayside maintenance planning to establish relations with key customer representatives in support of sales activities

·Provide wayside maintenance strategy (preventive, corrective and overhauls) and Asset Management support/input to Bids and Expressions of Interest as and when required

·Work with RAMS function to develop optimized Technical Maintenance Plans

·Work with Commodities and RAMS functions to evaluate and optimize suppliers BLESS/LCC data and to develop automatic tool for maintenance calculation.

·Carry out forecast modelling of maintenance requirements. Including “What If” analysis on wayside maintenance

·Carry out depot usage modelling to ensure it meets projected maintenance requirements

·Develop wayside maintenance staffing forecasts and related depot equipment requirements (for mobile equipment, and for storage areas, etc..) in support of bids

·Support ITC input into bids as and when required

·Develop mobilization plans for potential Service contracts related to wayside maintenance

·Prepare bid, product and project relevant documents out of Service engineering for wayside systems

·Ensure bid finalization on time and budget

·Assigned to support bids and projects for interface activities management.

·The function will require business travels/missions on regular basis, depending on bids/projects needs.

Key responsibilities and challenges

·Ensure that committed engineering deliverables to the bid and product are achieved within time, quality and budget and in line with legislation and safety

·Establish and maintain interfaces with all involved engineering departments (Vehicle, System Engineering, Integration, Product Integrity, Engineering Performance Office) & with relevant functions (Project Core Teams, Commodities, Sales, Bids)

·Support the Bid Manager in the development of relevant skills within the Bid Engineering Department (workforce planning, performance management, career development, succession planning and recruitment)

·Continuous optimization of Project Engineering processes/tools/behaviors by taking into account business requirements, customer needs, technical innovations, and new market conditions (product management)

·Project status are known and managed at all times and critical paths, technical issues, risks are presented and dealt with in a timely manner.

·Prepare and organize the hand over with Project team following contract award

Qualifications

Certification/Training Critical to the Position:

· Tertiary qualifications with B Eng. or B Tech

· Railway maintenance experience minimum 10 years

· Should have practical experience in the following:

· Experience in Product Introduction or Services organization

· Experience in Bid projects

· Understanding of Design for Maintenance principles

· Experience in planning functions associated with complex engineering products

· Understanding of long term Asset Management strategies

· Ability to calculate wayside maintenance requirements for extended periods

· Experience and understanding of the interface between electrical, mechanical and civil equipment

· Ability to perform risk analysis

· Ability to identify and extract bid scope requirements

· Ability to read and understand engineering and schematic drawings, sketches etc

· Skills in data collection and statistics

· Understanding and experience in performing risk and cost benefit analysis

· Minimum of Intermediate level of knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Access and MS Excel

· Understanding of Maximo (Desirable)
