The Functional HR Business Partner works in partnership with the Function and might be or not part of a management team. They can operate at different levels: Group, Division, BU, Site.

The Functional HR Business Partner brings people management expertise to business decisions and strategies and secures and delivers HR interventions and programmes to achieve business goals.

The Functional HR Business Partner is part of the People Strategy formulation process, including Organizational Capabilities, Talent Management, Labour and Employee relations, Leadership development and Building strong teams across the different steps of the Value Chain.

Additionally, HR Business Partner is a Change Leader, supports business leaders to become talent champions.

Key Responsibilities:

Organizational Capabilities

The HR Business Partner will analyze the current organizational capabilities to deliver the business strategy and will identify and act on gaps versus required capabilities.

Change programs, Organizational effectiveness and development, High Performance Culture.

Talent Management and Transform Leaders into Talent Champions

The HR Business Partner will be responsible to coordinate the Talent agenda together with Functional Leaders to ensure the right talent in the right place at the right time.

Talent reviews, competences assessment, identification & mobilization of high potentials, performance management and improvement, action plan per individual, resources & succession planning, recruitment and redeployment of people are in scope.

Additionally supporting employee engagement and enablement plans are in scope.

Develop Leadership

The HR Business Partner will drive together with the Functional Head the formation of a strong Functional Leadership Team delivering on their commitments, developing markets and customers, mobilizing people and teams; and, driving strategy while acting as per The Code of Ethics.

Leadership development programs, critical transitions support, leadership nominations and leaders´ behaviours together with values and ethics are in scope.

Supporting BT HR Delivery Model

Leverage good practice, share knowledge and experiences, avoid duplications but customize current tools and programmes, connect with SSO and CoE to ensure that the interfaces are efficient and effective, etc. working as ONE HR are in scope

Labour / Employee Relations

Support Employee relation within Labour Relations framework. Support decision & implementation of employee related decisions


Qualifications & Functional Knowledge

Typically minimum 5-8 years relevant experience

3+ years experience (Strong) experience in HR and People Strategies.

Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, Taleo, People management software

International experience as required by the business (future) markets and footprint

Has strong understanding of concepts and procedures in own discipline sound knowledge in adjoining discipline

Proficient in all aspects of role technical

Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products, services and technical processes in own area

Additional Information

HR Business Partners are required to be present in the business. Travelling will be subject to the geographical coverage of the areas in support.

Frequent travelling is applicable for most HR Business Partner positions

Reconcile Divisional, functional, country & site specific initiatives to prepare an HR program

Advisor to Site SGM, Head of Function
