Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on railroad signaling and traffic control equipment to ensure that safe, effective and efficient transit service is provided to the customers.

Possesses the aptitude to perform general maintenance and basic troubleshooting in the electrical / electronic field.

Performs preventative maintenance and regulatory testing on railroad signaling and traffic control equipment.

Performs troubleshooting and repair of railroad signaling and traffic control equipment.

Trained and qualified in SNJLRTS Operating Rules.

Trained and qualified to maintain railroad signaling in accordance with 49 CFR, parts 233 - 236.

Perform signal construction other related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor of Signal Maintenance.


Associates degree in Electronics / Electric Field or equivalent work experience.

0 to 1 years in the railroad field with a technical diploma or certificate; 5 years in the railroad field without a technical diploma or certificate.
