Purpose of the job:
The Site Controlling Manager has the responsibility to secure Governance and Integrity in all financial reporting and the overhead management for the Country. He/she will be the Business Partner for the Site Management Team, local Functional leads, Divisional Business Controlling teams and Finance Shared Service Organization.

Area of responsibility:
The person will have financial control of multiple sites, managing the financial control of the other Divisions within France and Benelux for both the overhead control and project controlling for the UK projects. He/she will also be managing the financial control of the Warranty & completion project pools within the designated countries.

Key responsibilities:

1. Financials & Compliance
• Responsible for the integrity of the Overheads in the country; ensuring quality and timely information is delivered in line with Group and Regional/Divisional expectations
• Responsible for the integrity of labour hours being booked to Projects in the country; ensuring quality and timely information is delivered to the project in line with expectations
• Monitoring Indirect costs (Expense Summary, Bid costs, R&T projects and Line 18) and addressing variances within the Country or Site for all active divisions or business units, recommending possible courses of action to remedy the situation
• Monitoring and addressing Direct Hours/ Direct Cost variances within the Country or Site for all active divisions or business units
• Responsible for the budgeting and forecasting activity of all aspects of the Expense Summary
• Responsible for coordinating the Long term functional forecasts and Estimate at Completion on Projects
• Managing the interface with the shared Service Centre for Overhead reporting Control
• Responsible for the integrity of the Portfolio Project Financial Information; ensuring quality and timely information is delivered in line with Group and Regional/Divisional expectations
• Monitoring Project Costs and addressing project variances, recommending possible courses of action to remedy the situation
• Responsible for the budgeting and forecasting activity of all aspects of the Projects under their Responsibility.

2. Stakeholder Management
• Ensure good communication with Key Stakeholders within the Division/Region. Design official forums for information exchange and ensure the forums are operating consistently
• Be a Business Partner for the Site Management Teams and the Functional Directors in the Country. Attend Functional Team meetings and all Operations relevant meetings
• Secure on time delivery of information to the various stakeholders (e.g. Corporate, Group, Division/Region, Local Management)
• Make financial situation transparent to site’s management. Ensure development & deployment of corrective action plans when necessary
• Regularly review and react to Stakeholder feedback/input with the Site Controlling team.
• Manage the Capital Investment submission for the country, control the evaluation and approval process and control of the expenditure once approved.

3. Process Execution & Improvement
• Ensure standard Global processes are consistently and effectively applied within the entity in all areas of activity
• Achieve efficiency gains through simplifying and standardising processes and optimising the use of the SSC in alignment with the Regional Site Controlling, FSSO, BT Core and Group Functions
• Approve and implement system changes / new systems implementation that affect finance in the Country or Site in coordination with Regional Site Controlling and A&R team, FSSO and IS.
• Implement the agreed migration of finance transactional activities into the SSC (shared with FSSO and Project Controlling).

4. People & Organisation
• Responsible for recruitment, induction and performance management of direct reports
• Regularly review the organization to ensure the Country’s Site Controlling team have the correct organizational design to achieve the deliverables in a consistent manner
• Ensure all PMPs are completed with clear identification of individual training and development plans
• Work with HR, Regional Site Controlling team, and local Controlling team to develop career (path) opportunities for individuals.

Qualifications

• Finance degree and/or any relevant professional related qualification

• Typically 7-10 years general accounting experience

• Deep knowledge of general finance and accounting highly desired (including tax accounting & audit experience)

• Experience of BT Finance processes and internal control processes represent a plus

• Language skills: French mandatory / English intermediate / Dutch would be an asset

• Advanced knowledge of Excel, knowledge with SAP.
