We are currently looking to recruit an Accounting Relationship Manager - Reporting and Systems Governance for our site in Derby, UK

The Accounting Relationship Manager will ensure that the Finance function is operating efficiently with the Systems and tools available and will be responsible for creating and implementing stronger internal controls and reliable efficient reporting. The purpose of this role is not only to ensure deliverables, but to understand the performance requirements and to suggest process performance improvements that deliver strong controls and efficiency gains.
The Accounting Relationship Manager will be responsible for external reporting outside of Bombardier Transportation.


Financials & Compliance
• Deliver system integrated solutions that provide a strengthened reporting control environment across all functions of Finance reporting and its key stakeholders;
• Liaise with the Financial Shared Service Centre to ensure continuous improvements and synergies are achieved across the work that has been transferred, while ensuring governance controls are maintained and strengthened;
• Involvement in SAP/ Systems Implementation and improvements implemented as part of the BT Organisation;
• Identify and monitor key OSC (Internal Audit Control) / CASRA controls and review where weaknesses are identified to implement stronger controls;
• Provide accurate and timely external reporting (ex: Transfer pricing, National statistics, Statutory reporting, XBRL tagging);
• Liaise with the Shared Service Centre on all Reporting and process transition stability / efficiency;
• Identify and deliver Continuous improvement across all finance processes and functions;
• Quarterly sign off for segregation of duties within the Systems environment;
• Training of the rest of the finance team of Finance Directives and Corporate governance procedures and the implementation of these within the function;
• Legal entity KPI production and monitoring of the UK entity P&L results;
• Holding company and UK subsidiary support for systems and workflow set up, control and reporting;
• Statutory accounts production and Audit support for all UK legal Entities;
• Understand best practice for processes across the BT group and define and implement if suitable for the UK.

Stakeholder Management
• Ensure on time delivery of information to the various stakeholders within your area of responsibility (OSC – Internal Audit, CASRA, Shared Service Center, Group IS, All Finance and non finance functions)
• Maintain customer focus whilst confidently challenging the stakeholder on areas of Conflict.

Process Execution & Improvement
• Perform root cause analysis for any performance or process issues and suggest possible solutions for Standardisation across the Finance function
• Ensure standard Global processes are consistently and effectively applied within the entity in all areas of activity
• Increase efficiency through simplifying and standardising processes and optimising the use of the systems and tools available.

Ad Hoc Project Work
• Involvement in any Ad Hoc requests coming from the Finance hierarchy


• Bachelor Degree in Finance;
• Qualified with a professional accounting body is essential (ex: ACCA, CIMA, etc.);
• Strong experience in a similar role;
• Strong compliance and auditing experience;
• Expert Finance knowledge of the area of Systems Accounting;
• Strong understanding of Excel, Access, SAP VCM;
• Knowledge of International accounting standards (IFRS);
• Experience in Continuous improvement;
• PC Literate MS-Office tools, Lotus Notes, etc.;
• Ability to be innovative in the approach to cost management by analysing current situation and the impact of alternative strategies;
• Good problem solving skills;
• Good influencing skills;
• Self motivated.
