Based at our site in Derby, we are currently looking to recruit an experienced Business Controller (m/f).

YOUR ROLE

The main purpose of the role is to provide consolidated financial overview to UK Management. Will be responsible for consolidating and managing P&L and cash and producing monthly management information. Working in close collaboration with the project controllers the role will be delivering key management information to the site Senior management team as well as being the point of contact for divisional and group reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Point of contact for Head of Finance UK for all consolidated results and financial performance indicators

• Point of contact for UK Project controllers for agreement over monthly forecast and risk & opportunities

• Point of contact for divisional and group reporting

• Co-ordinate the actual reporting consolidation and narrative with the respective site and project controllers across the UK

• Produce the monthly management reporting for the for the Business line reviews

• Provide an analysis of actual, budget & forecast variances for the UK projects as well as consolidating risk and opportunity data

• Assist with the monthly closing of the UK Rolling Stock & Services businesses with particular attention to managing the timetable and reconciling the MEC files

• Updating and checking of the actual UK project results into the UK project forecasting database

• Assist in producing the strategic financial plan and budget for the UK business units.

• Develop and improve standard planning tools for the finance community with particular focus on improving cash and P&L forecasting accuracy

• Make recommendations to management on suitable controlling KPI’s then design and implement the KPI’s across the UK

• Core competencies are assurance of financial governance, being the expert for effective processes and set standards to work to

• Assure financial governance as the owner of the UK master data

• Support audit (OSC, CASRA) requirements to ensure closing of gaps

Qualifications

• Finance degree and/or any relevant professional related qualification

• Suitably qualified by experience / agreement to working towards professional qualification

• Action orientated and results focused

• Ability to focus on key objectives and monitor progress

• Good communication and influencing skills

• Ability to build positive business relationships

• Experience in a similar responsibility, working in an international environment

• Highly developed understanding of Finance/Controlling processes and tools

• Good working Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Good technical accounting skills
