The Production Manager is responsible for leading a number of teams in the production of a quality product, delivering on time, at the best possible cost, while managing the production outputs against the massive production schedule. This role is also responsible for ensuring that the Health and Safety standards are met. S/he will be in charge of organizing and controlling the inventory, in order to maintain production within the agreed delivery schedule.


• Improve processes and the working environment
• Purchase essential equipment, determine appropriate level of team versatility and control standard hours
• Organize and control inventory to meet manufacturing and material flow needs
• Proactively manage bottlenecks using a highly visible system
• Resolve problems within one take, even if the solution is temporary
• Involve colleagues in the work process to continuously improve performance, product quality and working conditions
• Ensure that quality requirements appropriate to the work content of the area are defined and available
• Conduct regular team meetings to systematically review feedback/forward information for external and internal suppliers and ensure agreed counter measures are implemented
• Ensure appropriate documentation is controlled, records are kept and accessible at all places where required


• Fluent in English

• Minimum educational background: NVQ level 4

• CMS Certification is a plus

• Strong experience in a manufacturing environment

• Rail industry background is highly preferred, alternatively aerospace and automotive experience can also be considered

• Proven track record in management/coordination

• Good organisational skills and teamwork
