We are currently looking to recruit a Project Engineer – Entity in charge of maintenance (m/f) for our site in Derby, UK

Role:

This is a new role which has two key responsibilities:

- To help manage day to day operation of the UK Entity in Charge of maintenance function

- To Support the Head of Independent Design Integrity EMEA in planning reviews of bid and project technical risks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Become familiar with the Entity in charge of Maintenance (ECM) regulations and the published ECM guidance. Support the creation of suitable processes to meet the company’s legal obligations

- Keep regular contact with the ECM II, III and IV nominated individuals in the projects for which BT UK are ECM to ensure that they understand their obligations and are following the required processes

- Ensure that projects compile the necessary data to allow the ECM function to create reports which meet our legal obligations. Compile the monthly and annual ECM KPIs and reports for internal and external ECM customers including the regulatory bodies. Obtain internal approval and signoff for external reports

- Work with quality to ensure that Project Audits cover the whole range of ECM obligations and to check that the audit schedule meets the requirement of ECM reporting

- Monitor changes to laws and standards which affect our Services Contracts and notify the necessary Projects and Functions of changes which might affect their operations

- Establish a good relationship with other Bombardier ECMs in other sites. It is BT’s objective to have a common approach to ECM across Bombardier. Detailed processes will necessarily be different as different countries have enacted ECM legislation in slightly different ways

- Support the Head of Independent Design Integrity EMEA in planning reviews of bid and project technical risks. This includes following up with Bid and Project teams to identify the dates of design reviews and gate reviews and arranging for Independent Design Integrity / expert representation at each one. Help maintain a list of experts who can be used to support Independent Design Integrity at reviews.

Qualifications

- Bachelor Degree (not essential)

- Strong experience in a similar role

- Knowledge of EU regulation 455/2011 and ROGS (UK)

- Experience of the operation of the UK railway industry, its organisation and operation

- A breadth of knowledge of processes and standards, maintenance systems and design

- Understand maintenance processes and HSE processes

- Knowledge of Railway and Employee Safety

- Ability to meet legal requirements, to understand standards and regulations

- Understanding of what makes trains safe and assurance that our train maintenance operations are safe

- Good Project Management skills

- Good knowledge of Quality Systems

- An ability to work on multiple bids and projects at any given time

- Great IT skills

- Ability to understand the nature of the problems being seen and the potential solutions which are available

- Very Good interpersonal and communication skills

- Excellent report writing and presentation skills

- Good analytical skills
