We are currently looking to recruit a Supply Chain Co-ordinator (m/f) for our site in Derby


The Supply Chain Co-ordinator (m/f) is responsible for applying the supply chain strategy, and managing the commercial relationship with nominated suppliers, supporting the expediting team in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, regarding order book management, while also monitoring the supplier performance. Other responsibilities include handling the pricing for Internal / External enquiries – Raising and vetting RFQs, managing the inventory parameters and stock reduction for designated parts, and drive the process improvement and change management in OP function.


• Validation of material demand
• Create overhaul and manage Purchase Orders / Schedules and related processes
• Assist with the expediting of material deliveries to ensure OTD targets are achieved if escalated by Cluj-Napoca
• Manage SAP exception messages daily
• Challenge, mitigate and negotiate costs and report savings in SMIS
• Maintain SAP database on Vendor pricing lead times and contract validity
• Conduct Supplier performance reviews covering OTD, NCRs and cost
• Pro-actively maintain inventory parameters for designated parts to provide the optimum balance between inventory cost and service level
• Ensure SAP inventory parameter settings are accurate at all times
• Negotiate PO changes with suppliers to ensure due dates and quantities are aligned to fluctuations in Operations requirements


• Languages: Fluent in English
• Degree in a relevant field preferred but not mandatory
• Some experience in purchasing is required
• Experience in the rail industry is highly preferred but not mandatory
• Experience in deployment of Supply Chain Management strategies highly preferred
• SAP knowledge required
• CIPS considered a plus
• Good negotiating skills and teamwork
