Data Solution Architect

In your role, you will

•    Architect cloud data solutions OLAP, OLTP, API, SQL, NoSQL, Lakehouse, BI, AI/ML, GenAi that complies with approved architecture framework, standards, and principles.
•    Design and document functional aspect of analytics solutions data model, metadata usage or creation requirement, reference/master data integration.
•    Design and document non-functional aspects of analytics solutions (observability, availability, backup, archival, disaster recovery, security compliance).
•    Provide guidance to infrastructure team for setup of database systems (single node and cluster) and how to configure those to meet the solution requirements.
•    Assist the support team and database admin (DBA) to troubleshoot or optimize solution performance after project delivery.
•    Work with Product Owner, Data Engineers, BI and ML/AI developers to translate technical specifications into data & analytics solutions (data ingestion, integrations, transformations and serving/sharing).
•    Support Enterprise Architect for defining and evolving the reference data architecture to create and improve data systems.
•    Align your technical solutions to the data governance policies and data management strategy.
•    Maintain the data dictionary for the enterprise.
•    Investigate data quality issues impacting the business and propose solutions to address root cause.
•    Support definition of policies related to data lifecycle management.
•    Support definition of the data platform usage rules and monitor compliance (ingesting, processing and access management)
•    Represent the data & analytics team when meeting with various committees and departments regarding data solutions.
•    Collaborate with multiple departments, stakeholders, partners, and external vendors.
 

As our ideal candidate

•    You hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or related technical fields.
•    You have at least 10 years of data modeling, design experience, SQL development and database administration.
•    You have 5 years’ experience in a similar role of data architecture using cloud technology. 
•    You hold relevant certification related to data solution architecture.
•    You have expertise in cloud-based data platform capable to support big data analytics use cases (Databricks, Microsoft Azure, AWS is an asset)
•    You have a good understanding of security principles for cloud-hosted data solutions.
•    You are familiar with data integration architecture, microservice architecture, API management and have hands on experience working with API platform like MuleSoft or others.
•    You are keeping up to date with emerging trends related to columnar and NoSQL databases, predictive analytics, GenAI, data visualization, and unstructured data.
•    You have experience optimizing data file format for big data analytics (CSV, JSON, Parquet, ORC, AVRO, …).
•    You have knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML) specification for category and object modelling.
•    You have knowledge of XML Schema Definition (XSD), JSON and XML Metadata Interchange (XMI).
•    You have experience with handling customers and other third-party vendors effectively.
•    You can resolve complex problems and provide innovative solutions. 
•    You are flexible and can adapt towards changing organizational needs. 
•    You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
•    You can be an evangelist at enterprise level for promoting a data-centric culture
