In your role, you will

Technical Writer, Maintenance Program & Planning

Be reporting to the Supervisor of Maintenance Program & Planning, working in a dedicated team of Aircraft Maintenance analysts, the successful candidate will research, write, and carry out Quality Check (QC) functions to Maintenance Programs Publications (Time Limit/Maintenance Check (TLMC), Maintenance Planning Document (MPD), Airworthiness Limitations (AWL), Maintenance Review Board Report (MRBR), and others) for Bombardier Business Aircraft programs in accordance with industry, regulatory, and departmental specifications, and processes.     

  • Research, plan, write, and QC technical data focused on Maintenance Programs Publications using engineering and approved data from multiple sources, while ensuring adherence to schedule. 
  • Identify and implement process and product improvements in line with the strategic plan.
  • Participate in on-aircraft scheduled maintenance task validation activities.
  • Ensure customer, operator and regulatory bodies requests and issues are analyzed and satisfactorily responded to. 
  • Coordinate and define publications book plan.
  • Define standards and requirements for creation, and for distribution of documentation in an electronic format specification (e.g., ATA, S1000d, etc).
  • Identify, evaluate, and define action plans and schedules to minimize risks to completion of the publications.
  • Coordinate and publish Temporary Revisions (TRs).
  • Coordinate, publish and distribute Airworthiness Limitations Items (ALIs) resulting from REOs.
  • Research and provide Data Module Requirement List (DMRL) for STLMC. 
  • Review, plan, and coordinate MPP deliverables (ISCs, MRBs, PCRs, CARBs, and others) and schedules impacting Maintenance Programs Publications.
  • Support special projects (e.g., developing customized maintenance program).
     

As our ideal candidate

  • You hold a college degree in Aviation or above, or a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in Technical Publications or Aircraft Maintenance.
  • You have a good understanding in Aircraft maintenance manual planning (TLMC, AWL, MRBR). 
  • You have a good understanding of S1000D and ATA specifications. 
  • You have good knowledge of HTML, SGML and XML authoring languages.
  • You have strong communication skills (written and spoken, English and French). 
  • You are proficient with Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP (an asset). 
  • You have a detailed understanding of Technical Publications processes and technologies (an asset).
  • You have experience in product development (an asset). 
  • You have experience in defining a troubleshooting methodology in a high technology environment.
  • You have knowledge and experience in Bombardier Customer Services and Support (an asset). 
  • You have a good understanding of design procedures and Bombardier Aerospace Engineering System (an asset).
