In your role, you will

This role will be responsible for the overall management and governance functions concerning program directional decisions, facility optimization, governance of the Methods organization. This role requires an individual who is adept with communication throughout functions across all levels of the organization, and an individual who can translate complex business problems into practical models and present data into meaningful action plans. This role will be required to work closely with unionized Methods Analysts who will provide input for all technical, scheduling, cost (hours and/or monetary) elements associated with new and current projects related to responsibilities defined below. 

The successful candidate will be trained to understand cross-functional delineation of responsibilities and collective agreement adherence with respect to unionized Methods staff. 

 

  • Lead strategic initiatives associated with structural engineering pertaining to facility, architectural build, and factory design;
  • Lead and facilitate governance regarding budget follow-up, communication, Pearson project, Kaizens projects, KPI’s, all hands presentations;
  • Prepare business cases with respect to budgets, scheduling, costing, and program directive. 
  • Prepare initial factory design and revised factory design;
  • Utilize cost competitiveness input from unionized employees to decide on component sourcing;
  • Support site and program level financial budget;
  • Monitor resolution for over-cycled operational deliverables based on technical input from unionized employees;
  • Support Plant Engineering / Bay level infrastructure facility optimization;
  • Prepare governance of operational improvement projects for senior management reviews;
  • Monitor and track the status of PIP and RFR process;
  • Monitor and track turnaround time of ANDON (liaison) activities;
  • Report theoretical capacity for machine loading, efficiency, capacity, and cost based on technical input from unionized employees;
  • Coordinate program manufacturing schedule for 1st article based on technical input from unionized employees.
     

As our ideal candidate

  • You hold a Bachelor of Engineering or other degree with a strong concentration in analytical discipline;
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in similar role as a Project Manager, preferably in a manufacturing environment (aerospace industry would be an asset);
  • You have the ability to translate complex business problems into practical models;
  • You have the ability to work with minimum supervision and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • You have strong communication & presentation skills, and the ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team;
  • You have a logical and flexible mindset, show initiative and demonstrate overview/detailed approaches;
  • You have experience with MS Office including MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint.
