Global Lead Buyer– Maintenance and Supplies (m/f) role in Hennigsdorf, Germany



As a Global Lead Buyer you will be a member of a Strategic Sourcing team with the mission to develop, implement and lead the sourcing strategy for categories and sub-categories within Maintenance and Supplies with an annual spend of ~250Mn US$. In your daily activities you will manage external suppliers, work towards reaching the internal targets and our stakeholders’ requirements.

In your top management visible role you will develop the supplier base in line with the company strategy to support both the ongoing business needs but at the same time act as a category visionary paving and walking down the road to best-in-class category sourcing strategy.

In your efforts you will be supported by a dynamic direct line management team and a great team of category experts, regional and site buyers.

Your Tasks

- Align category sourcing strategy with functions / regions, understand function organization and market trends
- Understand and steer stakeholder demand and requirements, provide stakeholders with sustainable decision guidance
- Negotiate international agreements and ensure compliance with BT and BA Directives
- Manage supplier relationship, supplier performance review and integration, ensure quality and delivery are measured
- Identify potential savings / cost reductions in commodity, drive cost out of suppliers business, BT and way to do business
- Communicate and implement cost reductions / process saving initiatives across organization
- Manage strategic Supplier panel and drive supplier reduction
- Contribute to function policy and governance model where applicable
- Provide transparency on spend and ensure spend control through governance channels
- Ensure IGS Directive and legal policy is followed globally across regions
- Advice for process optimization, use best-in-class eProcurement tools
- Validate and analyze Spend Data, provide market information
- Run Request for Quotation (RfQs) , auctions according to legal and technical requirements
- Define suppliers with eCatalogue capability and drive implementation and compliance to eCatalogue targets
- Monitor supplier and functional KPI’s / SLA’s


- Engineering, Business or IT Degree or similar complemented by a demonstrated track record
- At least 5 years of work experience in Procurement, IT or similar background with sound commercial acumen
- Experience in Facility Management category and affinity to IT and e-commerce considered as an asset
- Proven leadership, negotiation and influencing skills
- Very Good Communication and presentation skills
- Open minded, easily adaptable, self-motivated with good time management skills
- Developed diplomatic skills
- English business fluent is mandatory for this role
- German and/or French language knowledge is considered an added plus
- Willing to travel up to 20% within Europe
