Regional Category Team Manager for Transport and Logistics role
The hiring location can be set to any of the following: Hennigsdorf (Germany) or Crespin (France)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Based in one of the regional hubs Hennigsdorf (Germany) or Crespin (Northern France), and reporting directly to the Regional Head of Hub Western or Central Europe for IGS (Indirect Goods and Services) as well as ‘dotted line’ to the relevant Global Category Lead, you will lead a regional category team in EMEA to develop and execute fact-based, comprehensive category strategies for Transport & Logistics with the focus on warehousing & distribution, designed to improve the profitability and competitiveness of the company, both in the region and globally. Your regional category team consisting of 5 – 7 team members forms an integral part of the global category team. The spend is approx. 100M€

IN YOUR ROLE YOU WILL:

• Lead the company’s category management efforts for Transport & Logistic in the region. Contribute to the development of global category strategies and the resulting project portfolio.
• Develop comprehensive project plans that address all hurdles to project implementation and lead and develop category team to high performance.
• Manage regional stakeholders, and facilitate stakeholder engagement and buy-in in collaboration with the Procurement Business Partner
• Establish and facilitate category governance, comprising team members and stakeholders
• Promote IGS category management to regional stakeholders and manage and develop relationships with strategic and critical suppliers in the region
• Ensure that risk management and compliance standards are rigorously and consistently applied across all contracts with our supply base.
• Deliver savings and cost reductions as committed to the bottom line of the company and contribute to the development of the IGS organization
• Demonstrate extensive expertise in the Transportation and logistics procurement category, possibly gained in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability in identifying best practices in all aspects of Transportation Logistics
• Have a broad knowledge of worldwide trends on logistics, regulatory, trade, environmental, economic and other factors driving service and cost

Qualifications

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:

• University degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or equivalent disciplines
• Minimum 6 years of experience in category management and strategic sourcing
• Knowledge with a wide range of sourcing approaches relevant to the category, including advanced approaches, procurement levers, innovative supply solutions
• Solid Category Management expertise ideally with multi-sites exposure
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders to ensure buy-in and compliance. Good relationship management and people skills
• Very good negotiation techniques with exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Capability of managing complex tasks independently while working with and supporting many stakeholders and be a strategic thinker
• Familiarity with leading complex, cross-functional, sourcing projects
• Ability to communicate simply and effectively at all levels within the region.
• Good presentation skills, be flexible and respect deadlines
• English business fluent is mandatory for this role
• French or German, depending on the region are mandatory at a fluent business level
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 40 % of the time in the assigned Region.
