Reporting to the Hydro-Mechanical Section Chief or Manager of the program, the candidates will actively participate in the technical definition and integration of Hydro Mechanical devices from design phase, certification and testing to production implementation.

Positions are open in a variety of levels, including both intermediate and more senior Hydro-Mechanical Engineering Systems opportunities. The Hydro-Mechanical System function includes Hydraulics, Landing Gear, classic Flight Controls and Doors mechanism.

Opportunities are available in the following environment:

- New Programs
- Existing or Sustaining Programs

In news programs, you will be required to:

- Integrate equipment to the aircraft and therefore develop equipment interface to other systems and structure
- Develop concepts, design approaches and philosophy with the system partners
- Develop, validate and verify technical requirements
- Prepare the technical requirements
- Perform/review analysis to evaluate concepts feasibility and architecture
- Perform trade off studies and life cycle cost analysis.
- Review systems installation detail design.
- Review of overall system architecture, control, performance and reliability specifications to meet design intent and certification goals
- Actively participate in all the design reviews (PDR, CDR ...) for system being developed and certified.
- Review/Prepare test procedures.
- Review test data and prepare/review tests and certification reports.
- Review supplier qualification documentation and recommend for approval.
- Resolve problems arising from the development and certification activities.
- Resolve problems arising from the product entry into service and sustaining phases.
- Coordinate technical issues resolution across all Bombardier, Supplier, Regulatory and Customer affected parties.
- Support of qualification, ground test, flight test and certification activities with partners and the flight test centers.
- Follow the ARP4754 process.
- Ensure the design process and the resulting equipment implementation is in line with Bombardier's requirements and standards.
- Participate in different peer and design reviews (PDR, CDR, ...) to support and produce DQA's (design quality assurance) reports towards other platforms (i.e. other new platforms as well as sustaining platforms) as a senior engineering specialist in his or her area of expertise.

In existing or sustaining programs, you will be required to:

- Support in service and manufacturing support of non-FBW primary flight (manual or powered) controls, secondary flight controls, hydraulics, doors as well as landing gear / steering and brake systems.
- Coordinate technical issues resolution across all Bombardier, Supplier, Regulatory & Customer affected parties for in service modifications and manufacturing support
- Take part in engineering support for in service issues (Corrective Action Requests) and assist product support group for product improvements
- Take part in engineering investigations as to support airworthiness group for continued airworthiness issues and support CARB's (continued airworthiness review board)
- Lead design reviews (PDR, CDR ...) for in service modification system being developed and certified.
- Perform trade off studies and life cycle cost analysis for in service modifications.
- Review/Prepare test procedures for in service modifications.
- Review/Prepare certification and test reports for in service modifications.
- Review supplier qualification documentation and recommend for approval for in service modifications.
- Review systems installation detailed design for in service modifications.
- Support qualification, ground test, flight test and certification activities for in service modifications with partners and the flight test centers.
- Ensure the design process and the resulting equipment implementation is in line with Bombardier's requirements and standards.

In your role, you will be asked to work on various Hydro Mechanical systems such as:

- Primary flight control ( manual or hydro-mechanical )
- Pitch trim
- Spoiler
- High lift
- Hydraulic system
- Landing gear
- Steering and brake system
- Door mechanisms

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,

- You hold a University degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent;
- You have a minimum of 5 to 8 years relevant experience;
- You have a good knowledge with the specification, design, integration, test and certification of Hydro-Mechanical systems on aircraft;
- You have strong communication skills (written and spoken).
