We are currently looking to recruit an Asset Management Engineer (m/f) for our site in Derby, UK

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As part of the Maintenance Development team, the Asset Management Engineer will be responsible for project execution in order to optimise the maintenance regime of fleets under Bombardier’s responsibility.

From concept you will be able to define the scope, methodology and planning for new projects. Then working in collaboration with system engineers, depot engineers and other stakeholders you will deliver the benefits to time and budget. Projects will range in scope and time scale from one component over a month to platform projects running for a number of years.

Your Tasks

- To develop maintenance optimization strategies to support extending and optimizing planned activities, component overhaul extension programs and best practice asset management development;
- To plan and coordinate the activities required to deliver those strategies including leading customer liaison meetings, facilitating supplier involvement and VAB/ICP or equivalent reviews;
- Develop risk assessments to support extension/optimization work packages under review;
- Ensure that life cycle costings are optimized, equitably balanced between cost, down time and reliability, whilst ensuring that product and operational safety is not compromised;
- Where required, supporting new build design reviews feeding back relevant maintenance experience;
- Providing strategic reliability support (strategy, methodology and detailed analysis) to Bombardier‘s operational fleets;
- Development and delivery of deliverables defined in scope documents;
- Define strategies to achieve/deliver the maintenance optimisation projects (scope and planning);
- Analyse the present maintenance plans to identify further savings.

Qualifications

Your Qualifications

- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred);
- Strong experience of maintenance and/or system engineering in rail or an equivalent sector (ex: aerospace);
- Knowledge of Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) philosophy;
- Successful delivery of maintenance optimization projects is highly desirable;
- Experience of Maintenance Improvements, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and carrying out engineering risk assessments;
- Able to effectively communicate and influence on technical issues across disciplines, cultures, work locations, and hierarchical level;
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and Word;
- Excellent team player.
