For our location based in Mannheim, Germany, we are currently looking to recruit a

Safety Assessor (m/f).

Purpose of the job:
As a Safety Assessor you will be performing conformity assessments against the requirements of TSIs and NNTRs, especially for Germany. You will be the interface between different internal and external experts and assessors and will be cooperating with NSAs.

Key deliverables of the role:

- Independent assessments of complex safety cases of cross-functional railway-projects;
- Independent assessments of the underlying documents like hazard- and risk analyses, taking into account Bombardier internal directives as well as the regulative framework, e.g. EN 5012x, IEC 61508;
- Independent assessments implementations / developments in at least one specific technical area;
- Especially for projects relevant in Germany: Assessments according to VVIBG and the MoU;
- Cooperation with internal as well as external experts and assessors, cooperation with NSAs (in Germany: EBA).


- University degree or equivalent in engineering, information engineering, electrical engineering, alternatively: qualified long-term experience in the railway domain, e.g. railway operation;
- At least five years of work experience as safety expert, safety manager or safety assessor;
- Knowledge of the regulative framework, e.g. EN5012x, IEC 61508 and the CSM-regulation;
- Profound knowledge of and five years’ experience in at least one specific technical area (e.g. ATP, EMC, Bogies, Brakes, etc.)
- Knowledge of Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSIs) are a must;
- For projects relevant in Germany, specific knowledge of the VVIBG and the MoU are essential;
- Goal oriented and a pro-active hands-on mentality, capacity for technical abstraction;
- High flexibility, endurance, being able to work independently and readiness to travel (up to 20%);
- Negotiation level in German and English orally and in writing.
