We are looking for qualified Locomotive Engineers interested in operating commuter trains on the "Agence Métropolitaine de Transport" (AMT) contract based in the greater Montreal area, Quebec.

Locomotive Engineers are responsible for the safe operation of locomotives and cab cars, complying with all train orders, wayside signals, railroad operating rules, and special instructions, provincial and local regulations to transport passengers safely and efficiently.

In your role you will:

- Operate trains during various work hours while maintaining alertness, situational awareness and vigilance
- Provide service through the application of a high level of technical expertise related to the safe quality service in order to meet the customer specified train schedule.
- Adhere to established operating rules, speed restrictions and regulatory requirements, initiate remedial action to eliminate undesirable train operation practices and communicate with traffic control any issues or problem that may hinder the safe operation of the system.
- Report and communicate with Maintenance staff in order to correct defects that could affect train performance on the road.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate:

- You possess a valid driver’s license, High school diploma or a college degree, CROR
- You were qualified as Locomotive Engineer
- You must be prepared to work in an enclosed/confined area (locomotive), climbing, lifting, walking and working outside in inclement weather.
- You must be able to maintain required level of fitness as outlined in the Canadian Railway Medical Rules Handbook
- Excellent communication skills: French and English (written and spoken).
- Preference will be given to candidates who are familiar with the territory in the Montreal area and have commuter experience.

Additional information: The incumbent of this position must be willing and able to travel and work overtime, odd hours, weekends and various as required.
