Description

The Aircraft Technician is responsible for conducting all servicing and maintenance tasks associated with the aviation system for his/her assigned fleet.

· Inspects, maintains, repairs, and tests aircraft aviation systems;

· Remove and replace line replaceable units and components;

· Specialty work in maintenance shops as required;

· Interpret technical publications and diagrams;

· Maintain tools and equipment required to perform primary duties;

· Order aircraft spare parts and materials;

· Debrief Team Lead as required;

· Carry out workplace inspections and clean ups

Special emphasis on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

In some cases:

· Carry out techniques for NDT

· Carry out repairs or modifications to structure

· Carry out classroom, practical and/or on-job-training (OJT) for other Technicians, Servicing Technicians and Apprentices

· Conduct flight line servicing operations;

Fill position of Desk Controller

Qualifications

· Education
Formal technical training in aviation systems

NDT Certification as a minimum: PT2E, MT2E, UT2E, ET2E, RT2A

· Experience
Minimum 5 years experience as aircraft technician providing

Minimum 5 years 1st and 2nd line maintenance activities
Experience in life cycle support activities an asset

· Other required training or skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills;

Proven experience as a team player,

Some travel required

Preference given to employees at the unit of vacancy,

Candidate must successfully pass a security evaluation per the requirements of the Controlled Goods Directorate of Canada and to Bombardier being able to obtain all necessary re-transfer authorization in compliance with US ITAR regulations.
