At Bombardier, we provide maintenance services for supporting commuter rail fleets as well as operations and maintenance services for automated rail transit systems. Our network of fleet maintenance and operations services sites include five transit agencies, 11 airports and the Las Vegas Monorail system.

Based in New York, New York at Bombardier Transportation's operations and maintenance service site located at JFK Airport, you will be responsible for the installation of IT based Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), public announcement, and digital signage systems that contribute to the safe and reliable operation of AirTrain JFK. As the Industrial IT/Electronic Specialist, you will also troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of electronics equipment such as computer-based systems, security access control systems, sonnet and ring topology networks, and audio systems.

In your role you will:

- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment related to communication systems;
- Interpret and work from electrical and electronic/communications drawings, plan diagrams and specifications;
- Prepare red line drawings of system modifications;
- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning of new or expanded systems;
- Update electronic data equipment and digital computer systems;
- Conduct safety audits and risks analysis to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations;
- Identify code issues and non-conformance issues;
- Test, diagnose, and correct failures in software and hardware digital computer systems;
- Provide on-site customer support for installation and troubleshooting;
- Anticipate and satisfy the customer’s needs.


As our ideal candidate:

- You hold an Associate’s degree in Electronics or Information Technology (IT) or related discipline; a Bachelor’s degree will be considered an asset in lieu of experience;
- You possess two (2) to four (4) years of experience in a field service role with responsibilities related to installation and maintenance;
- You demonstrate knowledge of IT standard practices for maintaining, testing, and repairing electronics equipment and systems;
- Skills related to Linux, Dos, Cisco, Windows Operating Systems, networking and programming will be considered an asset;
- You are proficient working with Microsoft Office and other PC applications;
- You demonstrate critical attention to detail and deadlines, and are self-motivated;
- You adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment;
- You can operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams;
- Your written and verbal English communication skills are good;
- You are able to lift forty to fifty (40-50) pounds unassisted;
- You must have a valid Driver’s license in good standing;
- You demonstrate flexibility to work a variety of hours as business demands, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
