In the Sr. Systems Integration Engineer role, you will deliver wireless communication system design and system integration for Bombardier’s Positive Train Control (PTC) system in New York City, NY for the Metro North/Long Island Railroad. You will provide support on projects, proposals, and strategic programs relevant to Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) solutions for Bombardier’s Main Line and Mass Transit solutions.

In your role you will:

- Design and integrate large-scale communication systems;
- Interface and collaborate with sub-systems engineers and third parties for design and implementation;
- Provide test and commissioning oversight and input for communication system;
- Oversee technical deliverables to ensure schedule and quality of work are maintained, including installation design, configuration management, reliability and quality;
- Develop test procedures utilized for commissioning systems;
- Ensure design addresses proper physical interface with the civil and electrical works;
- Prepare estimates to complete work tasks;
- Monitor engineering progress against budget throughout project duration;

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Networking or related discipline;
- You possess at least eight (8) years of experience with leading large-scale, systems integration projects;
- You demonstrate working knowledge of RF design concepts such as RF link budgets, free-space propagation, and experience working with LAN/WAN systems, and associated applications for network monitoring and control;
- You possess knowledge of general communications theory concepts such as modulation, noise, delay spread, latency, processing gain, divisional multiple access methods, and bit error rates;
- A PMP certification will be considered an asset;
- You demonstrate experience with test tools such as spectrum analyzers, cable analyzers and distance-to-fault/return loss measurements;
- You can operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams;
- You possess strong organizational and prioritization skills;
- You demonstrate critical attention to detail and deadlines, and are self-motivated;
- You possess the ability to adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment;
- Your written and verbal English communication skills are excellent.
