In the Communications Engineer role, you will set-up, test, verify, and troubleshoot wireless communication networks relevant to Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) solutions for Bombardier’s Main Line and Mass Transit solutions.

In your role you will:

- Assist with network design, configuration, testing, and verification for RF communication systems;
- Set-up data networks and RF communication systems including fiber optic distribution and network switch/router/firewall software;
- Interface and collaborate with sub-systems engineers and third parties for design and implementation;
- Develop test procedures utilized for commissioning systems;
- Provide input into physical interface with the civil and electrical works;
- Monitor engineering progress against budget throughout project duration
- Provide product development and planning support for next generation of RF systems.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Networking or related discipline;
- You possess approximately two (2) years of experience in a network engineering role;
- You demonstrate hands-on experience with network design and troubleshooting;
- You possess knowledge of general communications theory concepts such as modulation, noise, delay spread, latency, processing gain, divisional multiple access methods, and bit error rates;
- A Cisco certification will be considered an asset;
- You can operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams;
- You possess strong organizational and prioritization skills;
- You demonstrate critical attention to detail and deadlines, and are self-motivated;
- You possess the ability to adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment;
- Your written and verbal English communication skills are excellent.

Important information:

The incumbent in this position must be able to travel domestically and internationally as required.
