Located in Pittsburgh, PA, as the Sr. RAMS Engineer you will be responsible for assuring reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS) for Bombardier’s Automated People Mover (APM) systems. You will work with project teams to provide schedule estimates and technical expertise on RAMS tasks.

In your role you will:

- Oversee system safety and RAM programs;
- Calculate equipment failure rates using data from various sources and develop Reliability Block Diagrams with this information;
- Partner with engineering to agree upon failure rate targets for sub-systems.
- Develop availability models to support projects and proposed designs based on the Reliability Block Diagrams;
- Provide targets for vendor supplied equipment and incorporate into RAMS requirements;
- Develop Maintainability Analyses and perform other required maintainability tasks;
- Lead the System Safety Program for safety activities and issues;
- Provide functional guidance on preparation of inspection and test plans;
- Interpret safety requirements of customer contract;
- Ensure all necessary safety analyses are conducted according to requirements and schedules;
- Manage and track all hazards and safety requirements;
- Support the safety efforts of the project by coordinating efforts among the various engineering disciplines and contractors for system safety.


As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline; a Master’s Degree will be considered an asset;
- You possess at least five (5) years of engineering experience preferably in a safety or RAMS role;
- You demonstrate understanding of safety concepts and procedures within Safety Engineering, good knowledge of the development of safety critical integrated systems, and the entire system development lifecycle;
- You have previous experience with hazard identification and analysis;
- You demonstrate the ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams;
- You possess strong organizational and prioritization skills;
- You demonstrate critical attention to detail and deadlines, and are self-motivated;
- You possess the ability to adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment;
- You demonstrate strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Additional information: The person in this position must be able to travel domestically or internationally as required for projects (approximately 10-15%).
