Bombardier Transportation is the number one provider of rail solutions in the world. Our business holds the number one global market position in eight of the ten markets we service. Our product portfolio includes a full range of passenger rail vehicles and we manufacture locomotives, bogies, propulsion and rail control solutions.

At Bombardier, our employees work together to evolve mobility worldwide — one good idea at a time. If you have a good idea, we’ll provide the environment where it will thrive and grow into a great product or customer experience. Your ideas are our fuel.

Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, you will produce advanced technical, operational, and instructional manuals for customers. Also, you will develop materials and instruct training classes for equipment produced or supplied by Bombardier as required by customer contracts.

In your role you will:

- Research and compile information to author vehicle and guide-way switch operation and maintenance manuals;

- Act as a liaison and facilitator during Factory and Field site training programs for international customers;

- Design, plan, develop and instruct vehicle and guideway switch operations and maintenance training courses;

- Liaise with technical groups to maintain operational and equipment knowledge;

- Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings to produce training manuals.

As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical diploma with equivalent experience;

- You must have the ability to read and interpret pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and electronic wiring diagrams and schematics;

- You possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a technical writer;

- You demonstrate the ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams;

- You possess critical attention to detail and deadlines, and are self-motivated;

- You adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment;

- You possess strong written and verbal English communication skills.

The incumbent of this position must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally as required by business needs (approximately 10-20%)
