Based in Toronto, Ontario you will provide the mods team with the tools they require in order to execute modification work. You will also build the project schedule, manage the work order process, and set-up all activities related to Modifications on site.

In your role you will:

- Build, maintain, and manage the project modification schedule;
- Determine material requirements and submit to materials coordinator on a weekly basis for upcoming modifications work;
- Request and schedule trains from the TTC based on daily train availability. He or she will decide what work is performed on each train on every shift;
- Manage the contract labor requirements for each mod. A pool of contract employees will be provided and it will be this person's responsibility to schedule the labor;
- Monitor contractor attendance / performance and provide regular updates to the modifications manager;
- Manage short term kit inventory on site at TTC Wilson;
- Identify consistently and prevent potential safety hazards on site. Treat safety as the top priority when performing all work;
- Supervise and monitor a team of electrical and mechanical technicians in order to ensure that safe work is being performed during the testing, repair and modifications of vehicles and equipment 24 hours a day, 7 days per week;
- Be responsible for the correct deployment of testing, repair, modifications and documentation; to the technical team on various shifts to ensure work and activities are planned and coordinated with the overall product introduction schedule;
- Manage shifts and/or section employees of planned and coordinated work to ensure vehicles, technical resources and administrative support is available;
- Coordinate and collaborate with appropriate support teams e.g. Quality Assurance, Engineering, RAMS, Safety, etc.;
- Implementation and enforcement of HSE requirements on site, schedule safety training with the support of HSE team representatives;
- Regular reporting on status, special problems, shortages etc.; regular participation in PI Management meetings.


As our ideal candidate:

You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a technical background;

- You cumulate from 3 to 5 years relevant maintenance supervisory experience. Your rail experience will be considered an asset;
- You hold experience in testing, vehicle maintenance practices and methodology; knowledge of problem solving techniques;
- Your English communication skills are excellent both written and spoken
