The group employs some 800 people in Italy. 600 people are located in Vado Ligure, the plant set up in 1905 where close to 2,000 locomotives have been manufactured to date. 200 people work at its engineering centre in Rome, dedicated to the development of rail control solutions, signaling equipment and rail traffic management systems.

For our Vado Ligure site, we are currently looking to recruit a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer for a fixed term contract of 6 months

YOUR ROLE

The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer drives systematic and continuous supplier quality assurance, promoting improvement based on measured data, supporting activities like Supplier Evaluation and Approval Process (SEAP) and defining QA requirements in supplier specifications.

He / She facilitates and has an expert role in supplier improvement, support and development activities.

He / She acts as the Quality expert within the Supplier Evaluation and Approval Process (SEAP) and plays an active role in supplier selection.

The Supplier Performance Management must provide transparency on the performance (Quality, delivery, start up and field performance) of key suppliers, to identify critical low performing suppliers define and manage action plans with low performing and improve supplier performance

YOUR TASKS

- Execution of the Parts Approval Process on a basis of Doc 24 (Supplier Quality Plan) in close cooperation with the Project QA and the Buyer, including close-out of action items.

- Input to supplier specifications: Support PQA in issuing quality section of project requirements and liaise with system engineering to ensure that quality requirements are considered in system requirements and influence Supplier Selection with a TCO focused cross functional Offer Evaluation including consideration of past Supplier Performance
- Participation in specific cross-functional improvement projects/activities led by Procurement (e.g. TCO activities)
- SQA will initiate and follow up the problem solving activities with suppliers (NCR process, 8D), continuous improvement activities including coaching and drive open items to conclusion (PDCA).
- Execution of the quality part of the Supplier Evaluation & Approval Process (SAA and PAA) (in support of supply management) and monitoring of special processes at suppliers.

- Ensure the execution of policies as well as timeliness and quality deliverables.

- Non-conformity and On-time Delivery data collection and harmonization, take part to low performing internal meetings and conducts performance reviews and recommends pay action

- Team leadership in specific task within cross functional area

- Support supplier chargeback

Qualifications

- Bachelor Degree (preferable in Engineering)
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Good knowledge of key procurement processes
- Good knowledge of Quality planning (e.g. APQP)
- Strong experience in supplier performance improvement
- Practical experience of supplier audits, systems and processes, Parts Approval Process (PAP), Quality Planning, Multiple Customer Supplier Relationships
- Expert knowledge of problem solving / root cause analysis
- Practical experience on quality methods and tools (8D, RCA, FMEA, etc.)
- Detailed understanding of IRIS and ISO 9001 standards
- SMIS or SAP knowledge
- Ability to work in a team and to be very organized
