For our Team in Vienna, we are currently looking to recruit Commodity Buyers (m/f). In this role, you will be responsible for managing all strategic actions within Procurement for Locomotives & Light Rail Vehicles for several commodities in the area of mechanicals and/or interiors.


- Development and deployment of sourcing strategies and alignment of sourcing strategies with relevant functions and other divisions as well as the objectives of Bombardier Transportation
- Supply base management (market research, supplier selection considering the global procurement market, supplier rating, supplier audits and supplier development/improvement)
- Price negotiation and negotiation of contracts like frame contracts, long term supplier agreements, general and project-specific terms and conditions
- Achievement of project budgets for assigned commodities on a ‘total cost of ownership’ approach
- Innovation management and investigation into new technologies for our products
- Secure material availability for new products under consideration of project timescales, technical, quality and commercial requirements
- Responsible for appointed commodity/material throughout entire product development phase until technical serial delivery maturity of appointed commodities for all Locomotives & Light Rail Vehicles projects
- Negotiation of relevant claims
- Reporting of the procurement results to the Head of Procurement and the management


- General procurement skills and experience with contractual terms and conditions as well as in negotiations of international contracts
- Master or Bachelor degree with previous educational background in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Mechatronics, Industrial, System) or Business (Supply chain, Logistics, Procurement)
- Sound communication and organization skills
- Work experience in a multicultural and changing environment
- Technical flair and analytical thinking
- Negotiation skills and assertiveness
- Presentation skills
- IT skills in MS Office, SAP is desirable
- Fluency in German and English

The position will be based on a limited contract for 1 year initially. According to the collective agreement, the minimum salary for this role is € 2.704,41 gross/month (14 times a year) based on full-time employment. Depending on relevant professional experience and/or qualifications, the actual salary will be higher.
