As a Senior Flight Test Engineer working in the Bombardier Flight Test Center you will have the opportunity to continue to expand on your already impressive experience in the challenging workplace that is flight testing. You have broad experience across a number of project; including the supervision of junior personnel. You are equally comfortable operating as an airborne test conductor in a flight test vehicle or resolving challenging technical issues on the ground. In your role at Bombardier you will be part of a tight knit team that supports company development or certification testing for the wide range of Bombardier product such as the game changing CSeries, the Global 7000, Challenger, Global 5000/6000 or multiple other platforms. You will work side by side with Test Pilots and other Senior FTEs to guide program to safe and efficient conduct The flight test engineer at Bombardier is an operational based role; as such, your easygoing personality and ability to adjust to changing and dynamic environments will be an asset.

In your role, you will:

- Have oversight on test planning, test readiness, safety of flight activities to support test operations.

- Operate as a qualified experimental cabin crewmember following appropriate product and safety training.
- Perform the role of Test Conductor in a remote telemetry facility.
- Support other flight crewmembers with aircraft limitations, special instructions and test procedures.
- Operate all cabin experimental provisions and mission specific test instrumentation.
- You must communicate to engineering and project personnel on the planning, status and results of test execution (ground and/or flight).
- Produce test documentation and reports consistent with approved Bombardier standards.
- Work closely with internal and external parties to ensure resolution of engineering concerns when they arise.
- Undertake preliminary review and processing of requests for test conduct.
- Liaise with certifying Agency personnel, as required, to ensure safe and compliant conduct of assessments
- Observe and operate within the bounds of Bombardier, Transport Canada and FAA rules and regulations. This includes proper use of safety and risk mitigation methods and the safe operation of equipment.
- Hold administrative management responsibility of junior FTEs.


As our ideal candidate, you will meet the following requirements:

- Have a good understanding of common flight test procedures and requirements.
- Experience with airworthiness regulatory requirements such as Transport Canada, FAA and JAA Certification processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated capacity and skills to prioritize and manage large amounts of information.
- Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline. Preference is with an aerospace or Aeronautical basis.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments and organizations.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- You will have an understanding that the flight test environment may require irregular work hours and does require travel.
- Consistent with flight crew duties, the flight test engineer must be able to maintain a FAA Class 3 Medical Certificate.
