The Project Manager’s main focus is to deliver the object of the contract to the customer and to deliver the targeted margin to Bombardier. To this effect, he/she leads the Project Core Team in the successful completion of their assigned tasks within schedule, allocated budgets and scope to the required quality, by continually assuring that the functions keep their delegated budgets, meet their schedules and deliver on their obligation.

The Project Manager has to ensure that all Project Core Team members have sufficient financial and reporting governance and to ensure all risks and opportunities are properly addressed and mitigated.

About the project:

More specifically, the role implies leading the M7 double-deck project, on the homologation and validation during all project phases until end of warranty (starting from bid phase to project closure).

The target for Bombardier is to manufacture 65 steering cars and 290 trailer cars, in Belgium. The trains will have a maximum speed of 200kmph and will increase the Belgian rail capacity by 145,000 seats. The trains will operate on Belgium’s mainlines, as well as cross the border to the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

Main responsibilities:

- Coordinates and leads the Authorisation process for projects or vehicle platforms during all project phases and provides deliverables to achieve Authorisation for Placing into Service (APIS);

- Acts as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) to external stakeholders, represents projects to authorities;

- Provides project specific requirements and acts as link to Requirements Management and takes responsibility for budget and schedule of Authorisation Projects

- As member of project core team, addresses all required support for contribution to other team members; as a member of product core team, develops the authorisation strategy as input to product roadmaps;

- Leads the authorisation country team in multiple country projects and manages planning authorisation activities

- Scheduling authorisation relevant milestones in line with the responsible Project Engineer

- Budget monitoring and tracking in scope of authorisation, documentation Management for authorisation related documents

- Leading all authorisation relevant activities for a dedicated project, identifying authorisation related requirements for a dedicated project

Deliverables:

- Application for Authorisation, authorisation concept and requirements

- Approval for test runs, test specifications and reports

- Assessment reports, EC certificates and approval certificates

Qualifications

- Minimum 7 years of experience in Project Management, with minimum 3 years of leadership experience

- Degree in Engineering

- Working experience either in Project Management, Bids, Sales, Contracts & Legal, Procurement, Engineering or Operations

- Proven leadership performance (i.e. PMP, 360° feedback)

- International working experience

- Language skills: French and English – proficiency level ; Dutch – represents a plus
