Bombardier site in Crespin, Hauts-de-France is the leading French railway industrial site and employs nearly 2,000 people, including 500 engineers and managers. Its engineering center specializes in two-tier vehicle design and industrialization within the group, internationally.

Some of our most emblematic projects are the OMNEO Regio 2N, in premium and regional versions; the Francilien, an ultra-modern train for the Île-de-France; and the RER NG, in consortium, for the RER E and D. For the RATP, Bombardier participated in the Paris metro projects MF2000 and MI09 for the RER A currently in service. Alongside the operators, specialized teams optimize maintenance and refurbish the rolling stock.

We are currently looking to recruit a Lead Functional Architect - Passenger safety for our Functional Architecture Center of Expertise, to be located in Crespin , France

Your Role
You will drive the new Vehicle Architecture with clear focus on Standardization across the Product Platform globally for Passenger Safety, concerning functional architecture and requirements definition related to Fire Detection and Extinguishing, Passenger Alarm functions.

Key responsibilities
• Full integration of operability requirements related to Passenger Safety
• Full integration of fire safety performance, Dependability Performance
• Control Command and Architecture to Passenger safety are integrated
• Ensure complete and correct set of functional features assigned from Operability are formalized into a Vehicle Concept Definition
• Definition of high-level open-standard functional architecture solution including variability model (at functional level)
• Validation of the defined concept per platform


• Engineering degree, Electrical/Electronic field is preferred
• Solid technical experience in functional architecture (definition, configuration, validation, implementation, operability)
• Experience working with RAMS tools and methodologies is desired
• Experience in designing and implementing standardization processes and best practice initiatives
