PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Field Engineer is responsible of one (or few) systems inside “Field & Fleet Performance” team (within Services Execution France & Benelux).

The person filling this role will need to be a technical expert of some systems and have to deliver the full engineering support to the reliability growth of the train fleet, while also working closely with operation troubleshooters and other functions (Project Management, Procurement, Engineering).

Responsibilities

1) Support Operation:

• Be in direct and regular contact with depot technicians, to be proactive in fault finding and analysis

• Is available and active for the hotline and mail support to technicians

• Fill in the Troubleshooting Guide Database (GDS)

• Provide technical training for depot technicians (level1/2) on systems in charge

2) Support the reliability growth:

• Analyze specific failure mode, expertise parts (on train, and on test bench), deliver reports with evidences

• Be involved in the Task Teams FRACAS process (Root cause identification and Purpose corrective actions)

• Support incident analysis, follow-up Limited Tests on fleet and initiate new Fleet Checks

• Follow and support supplier reliability (lead by ROS FRACAS Eng.)

3) Support other functions:

• Support the ILS team for the technical purposes

• Participate to Field Experience Feedback to consider for new design (Design Gate or other)

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or experienced technician

• Extensive knowledge of rolling stock (vehicles) and their electrical and mechanical systems is a must have;

• Analytical mindset required (can overview the situation without getting lost in the details)

• Self-starting and team player skills mandatory

• Strong communication and influencing others’ skills required

• Willing to travel 20% of his time within France/Benelux

• Fluent in French and English

• Dutch knowledge is an asset
