We are looking for highly skilled and experienced people to build the technology platform for Bombardier Transportation's future, for our site in Crespin, and, are currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Project Engineer (m/f) to join our team.

The Role:

The purpose of the role to manage the Mechanical project through the whole design life cycle ensuring Quality, Cost & Delivery (QCD) and to ensure the design output is in accordance with all requirements (legislative, standards, contract and company internal) and delivered within the project timescales.

Key Responsibilities and Challenges:

• Design, gather and analyze technical data on the specific domains of competences. Provides leadership and technical direction to Carbody engineers within the project team and external design houses. Ensures adherence to engineering processes to provide high quality designs that meet customer’s requirements Reports to the project any risks and mitigations as required.

• Develop and manage Interface requirements. Lead design reviews, internal and with customer. Maintains close contact with engineers on status of their work package. Technical lead for the whole design lifecycle (concept, prelim, detail and realization : production follow up). Reports on the status of the engineering progress and budget to ensure all tasks are delivered within the budgeted hours.

• Drive the R&D projects on time and in budget. Evaluate results of programs and prepare reports and recommendations based on evaluationsIdentify and recommend improvements where established technology components and methodologies are inadequate or where the implementations of solutions are not effective. Optimizes communication and relationships with customers and other functions. Implementation of processes/tools/behaviors by taking into account business requirements, customer needs, technical innovations, and new market conditions.

• Be informed of advancements in engineering technology, especially in areas of specialization.


• Mechanical Engineering Degree or in a similar relevant discipline

• 10 years of experience post graduate within engineering Bogie, Carbody or Structures function would be ideal

• Technical domain experience, Systems Integration experience, System Architectural understanding required

• Experience in use of doors, ROP database, P6 reading

• Be able to write the Technical description of the Carbody would be ideal

• Be aware of the relevant standards in his scope

• Be able to manipulate Catia V5
