About the role:

As part of the Centre of Expertise Architecture Modelling and Simulation in charge of Product Development, you will contribute to the system modelling and simulation activities for all the product families and products development within the Product Engine.

He/she develops in back office “As Specified” and “As Designed” models accordingly to the specification from the Simulation Coordinator to express the Functional Architecture needs in consistency with the validation strategy of the Product Families, by following the process, methodology and rules defined by the BPO and Modelling Tool Key Users.

He/she is accountable for the development of “Virtual Bird” train digital simulator intended to check at the earliest the functional design of the train by carrying over the Virtual Bird existing methodology.

Key responsibilities :

• Create models ‘As Specified’ and ‘As Designed’ for each building-block with a high level of representativeness defined by the Modelling Tool Key Users
• Integrate the models together by using the Train Configurator and following the methodology
• Verify the consistency of the new model created through simulations (unitary and integrated test)
• Generate model’s documentation for each building-block in his scope
• Generate automated tests scripts to allow simulation execution by the Simulation Coordinator
• Standardize models to enhance re-use across Product Families
• Manage the models update and change follow-up by applying the process defined by the Modelling Tool Key Users
• Support the design teams to their specific requests by providing solutions
• Use systematically the models for non-regression analysis of the FCR


- Master in Electrical/Electronic sciences, or Automation Degree required.

- 3 to 5 years engineering experience in the specific technical domain

- Experience on functional or sub-system design areas (railway desired)

- Experience on modelling desired.

- Experience on testing/simulation desired.

- Good interpretation of Electrical and Pneumatic drawings desirable.

- Programming experience required (C, block diagrams, Grafcet, logigrams, structured text, low voltage schematics),

- Computer skills: Controlbuild, any other modelling tool desired (MATLAB/Simulink, Labview…), Office (Access and Visio particularly)

- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to lead a meeting internally and with suppliers, writing and synthesis ability, curiosity and constructive spirit

- Autonomy, responsiveness and good adaptability

- Very good working experience in an international environment

- Fluent in English and French
