We are looking to recruit a new Material Planner based on our offices in Derby, United Kingdom.


This role will be responsible for the appropriate, monitoring and governance of critical value chain inputs into the Operation to ensure and support the on-time execution of Production programmes. Value chain refers to Project bid, start-up, realisation, Train sale and all completion phases of a Project.

Key responsibilities:

- Responsibility of SAP MRP part master data in adherence with B.T Group and Site specific default standards.

- Drive key data integrity and ongoing SAP / ERP system disciplines.

- Ensure key critical processes are deployed and under pinned by effective lead KPI’s

- Ensure that operational requirements are fully implemented in the PFEP strategy

- Identify improvement opportunities within the SAP/ ERP system and coordinate the SAP key user network to deliver business continuity and improvements.

- The proactive coordination and development of recovery plans for underperforming KPI’s.


You will display:

A minimum 4 - 5 years’ experience of the points below:

- Experience in a similar or relevant role working in a supply chain, manufacturing environment.

- Good understanding of Supplier Management and knowledge of material flow strategies (JIT – just in time, Kanban, (VMI - Vendor Managed Inventories)

- Extensive Working knowledge of MRP Systems and SAP

- Excellent MS Office Suite skills

- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced manufacturing, supply chain environment.

- The ability to successfully build strong relationships and effectively communicate across all levels of the Organisation.

- Ability to apply an analytical approach to problem solving.

- A keen interest in developing professionally within B.T

- Understanding and experience of Lean principles
