PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Drive operations of the OU under the strategic leadership of the Vice President Site General Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Endorse the HSE Policy, assuming the overall responsibility for HSE within their scope. Accountable for HSE performance and monitor meaningful HSE targets aligned with Bombardier HSE vision;
• Responsible for series production and operations representation in projects;
• Ensures high standards of productivity, process stability and quality, makes sure projects are manufactured on time, quality and cost;
• Ensures OU employees on all levels are inspired to reach high standards by self-directed team work, sound resource planning and competence development is in place, Lean techniques, toolboxes, programs and processes are consistently deployed throughout the OU;
• Provide daily leadership and, where remote OU, provide a daily escalation route to all production facing functional representatives;
• Maintains a solid base for shop floor management by ensuring that all functions (Production, Methods, Planning, Quality) collaborate smoothly;
• Accountable for workforce planning and interfacing the OU with the Lead site;
• Has budgetary, personnel and disciplinary responsibility.

Qualifications

• Educated to a Degree level, ideally in Engineering, Manufacturing or similar;
• Previous similar senior experience is required, ideally in transportation industries (e.g. railway, automotive, aerospace), or from other similar manufacturing/engineering industries;
• Strong experience and competencies with managing large teams in a high-pressure environment, able to coach and mentor people;
• Broad knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes, tools, documents. Broad knowledge of IT systems, HSE, SMB, BOS, value stream analysis;
• Experience with management by KPIs;
• Understanding of Project Management and financials;

• Thorough understanding of Production and all interfacing functions in a project.

• English skills: advanced/business fluent level;
