The Paint Facilities Shift Manager will be responsible to manage the overall Paint Facilities with regards to schedules, quality, Health & Safety, People, Process, Cost Control, Standardisation and Continuous Improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that quality requirements appropriate to the work content of the area are defined and available. Conduct regular team meetings to systematically review feedback/forward information for external and internal suppliers and ensure agreed countermeasures are implemented. Ensure appropriate documentation is controlled, records are kept and accessible at all places where required. Encourage all Team members to deliver a Quality product, process and culture on a continual basis.

• Involve colleagues in the work process of continuously improving performance, product quality and working conditions via a Challenging and Supportive Culture. Through team work, encourage them to challenge the status quo, identify the root cause of problems and strive to eliminate waste. Promote colleagues pride, winning and professional behaviours, job satisfaction and professional and personal development.

• Ensure that the workplace organisation standards are established to clean, organise and maintain a safe workplace and surrounding environment. Maintain team visual management. Together with the team, analyse information on disturbances and implement solutions within one takt using continuous improvement methodology.

• Ensure that colleagues are skilled to undertake specific maintenance tasks and that critical equipment is identified and the team actively works to improve equipment availability, reliability, robustness and capability.

• Organise and control inventory to meet manufacturing and material flow needs and maintain production within agreed delivery schedule. Proactively manage and review any bottlenecks using a highly visible system and resolve problems within one takt, even if the solution is temporary.

• Ensure that a “Safety No Exceptions Culture is “promoted and managed at all levels whilst involving positive influencing. Encourage an environment of visibility throughout all operations within the area.

• Ensure a proactive approach to all budgetary processes via a proactive and challenging approach. Develop and “Coach” accountability across levels and all areas of the operational function.

Qualifications

• Operational Managerial Qualification
• Relevant experience required in surface preparation techniques including grit blasting and hand abrading
• Full background and knowledge in solvent and water based paint applications covering new and refresh work
• Previous Change management knowledge /experience
• People management / leadership experience essential
