As a Platform Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for Platform building blocks from a design, performance, product safety, compliance, cost (quality and cost) and overall competitiveness point of view.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Identifying the ‘gaps’ in building blocks performance in the current portfolio and working with Building Block owners within Bombardier to use this analysis to put in place a development roadmap for improvement;

• Management of the development roadmap of the platform instigate and providing governance on Building Block on and off-cycle developments;

• Approving the content and deliverables of each building Block work package;

• Developing and manage transversal performance and integration building blocks of the Platform and their variants;

• Managing the integration of the sub-system building blocks into the Platform and library;

• Validation of technical solutions of product variants (based on customer requirements) in line with the product concept requirements of the Platform;

• Reviewing ROP for technical risks and assuring the technical closure plans and activities for Building Block developments;

• Deployment and management of engineering designs, performance, compliance and overall product cost compliance processes;

• Leading Platform Convergence and Innovation Managers;

• Providing governance in Building Block development gate reviews and bid Product Reviews.


Key requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent (MBA is a plus);

• Significant experience in System Engineering, Concept Design and Architecture, Requirement Management, Functional Analysis;

• Strong background in Product Management practices and development from bid to product introduction (through all project delivery phases);

• Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical and functional engineering and testing and commissioning;

• Significant customer exposure (including technical negotiations);

• Fluency in English (other languages are an advantage).
