BT is looking for a stellar product marketing manager for its services portfolio. This is an end-to-end product marketing role that requires strategic thinking, cross-group collaboration and storytelling as well as a passion for technology and transportation industry.

Based in one of our main sites, you will drive end to end product marketing for the services portfolio that has a global impact. This role will help position Bombardier Transportation as the market leader in traditional and digital services in the transportation market and its ecosystems.

Principle responsibilities will be both inbound support to product development and the outbound marketing for your product portfolio. You will be responsible to understand the market problems, competitive advantage and craft the messaging/positioning (value proposition) for our services offerings. You'll also conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive the product launch and demand of your solutions in the market. In this role, you will be the expert on buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria and will transfer that knowledge to the sales channel.

You will also be the expert on market and competitive intelligence at product family level and be the go to person on the market understanding. This role will report to the Product Marketing head, and will closely work with the product family leader and will collaborate with sales and other business units in the organization including procurement, bids etc.


Product marketing will help define the product strategy in collaboration with product management and own the development of the go-to-market strategy to make sure sales, communication and other parts of the organization are prepared.

Help define product strategy to support the product management/ Product family

- Analyse market problems when it comes to services need in the industry, current pipeline, customer requirements and demands

- Compare, benchmark our product(s) versus competition. Identify competitor product development and detect market trends and drive them into the PF/PE

- Identify key product developments and technologies to catch up and overpass competition

- Coordinate interfaces with engineering experts in line organization and bring the innovation perspective & ideas to the planning

- Feedback market developments for Standardization by verifying product developments with regards to customer needs.

Be the product expert and own the development of product value prop/positioning and messaging that differentiates your products in the market

- Own and develop the value proposition of the services products and define how it fits in the portfolio of mobility solution for customers.

- Own and develop the positioning and messaging components and incorporate in the Product book, product marketing playbook and product communications.

- Develop product data sheets, presentations and bill of materials needed to drive successful product discussions.

- Become the product expert who can articulate the product value in a meaningful way to customers, as a speaker at conferences and also with the ability to contribute thought leadership content and articles.

- Collaborate with external communications team to ensure products are well positioned on website, social and other channels.

Market Intelligence: be the expert on your buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on your competition and how to crush them

- Gather deep knowledge on competitive landscape and product intelligence around services and incorporate into BT tools for easy access, sharing and benchmarking

- Be the go to person when it comes to competitive knowledge on the product/platform in the company

Demand Generation & Product Launch - develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive demand for your products

- Product launch – Plan the launch of new services products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan

- Work with the product marketing programs manager to design and develop an integrated demand generation plan of all products and releases and align with ecosystems and mobility solutions approach.

- Develop the right engagement of BT on all related publications, trade fairs and conferences.

Sales enablement and support sales on bids for the worldwide market

- Educate, evangelize and train the sales team with product knowledge and value proposition of the products.

- Develop the sales tools that support the selling process of your products in collaboration with the product marketing manager for sales enablement

- Be the expert to understand the fitment of services in any specific ecosystem.

- Interface with the Sales Team in any specific country a market opportunity may exist to understand the fitment and correlation to specific products

- Support sales on the bid strategy and necessary competitive intelligence to win the bids.

- Support the product team in developing the right cost of the products by market intelligence.

- Contribute to the governance process by proving product marketing information and input to gate reviews and sales review.

Measurement & reporting: Identify and regularly report on product marketing KPI (non-exhaustive list) and report results monthly:

- Order intake

- Market share and similar marketing metrics.


- You hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing or business administration;

- Very strong experience in creating & driving innovative product marketing, planning for product road maps with demonstrated success within complex organisations;

- You have knowledge of transportation/rail industry, public procurement industry, project industry and investment industry

- Ability to build and articulate product value propositions, product knowledge and to proactively and quickly learn new and emerging technologies is required.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and storytelling skills are required.

- Experience in leading technical and non-technical discussions with product management/ engineers, internally at BT and externally at public forums and conferences.

- Strong marketing, project management, leadership, management and cross-group collaboration skills are critical to your success in this position

- Deep experience in Microsoft Office Applications

- You have solid working knowledge in Enterprise Resource Planning systems, eProcurement tools;

- You are very fluent in English both written and spoken.
