We are always ready to speak to highly skilled and experienced people for our site in Derby, and, we are currently looking to recruit a Project Engineer to join our team.


You will work on On-Board signalling projects supplying European Train Control System (ETCS) and Automatic Train Operation (ATO) technology. As part of the Rail Control Systems Division (RCS), you will be working in a multinational cross-divisional team, providing rail control systems technical leadership (70-80% of your time) and leading the BID support actions for new projects (20-30% of your time).

Key Responsibilities and Challenges:

- Provide engineering leadership for RCS Onboard Signalling Projects in the UK.

- Customer main point of contact for engineering activities.

- Responsible for on time delivery of engineering documents.

- Responsible for coordinating engineering tasks within the team.

- Lead complex problem solving activities.

- Build and maintain excellent working relationships between internal Bombardier divisions

- Support pre-sales and bid opportunities for future Onboard contracts in UK.


- Bachelors or higher degree in engineering (electrical, software or mechanical).
- Must demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge in any of the following disciplines strongly preferred; signalling / train control / ETCS/ ATP / ATO.
- Solid technical problem solving ability.
- Availability for traveling (around 1 week, every two months).
- Attention to detail and clear levels of ownership.
