The SQA engineer acts as single point of contact between BT and a supplier at a manufacturing site for (quality) performance related topics. She/he executes the parts approval process activities, as per BT’s processes and monitor continuously the supplier processes at allocated suppler manufacturing sites as base for a supplier approval. includes the activities of supplier selection. She/he supports supplier performance improvements and developments initiatives at the relevant supplier manufacturing sites. A SQA engineer participates in the global network of SQA engineers for the relevant commodities.


• Execution of the Parts Approval Process (PAP) in accordance with the Doc 3/24 Plan at project or product level harmonised with SQA Office;

• Responsible for the appraisal and validation of the Supplier Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plan, plus applicable SQA related documents;

• Generates all applicable PAP reports and manages supplier related Open Items with formal feedback (reports) to the SQA Office;

• Run special process assessments at the suppliers within assigned commodity group;

• Participation in specific commodity improvement projects/activities led by (Senior) Lead SQA and supports the execution of supplier governance assessments/visits;

• Participation in supplier selection activities for the assigned commodities by completing the quality section in the Offer Evaluation Tool (OET);

• The SQA Engineer will monitor the processes at supplier manufacturing and conduct appropriate follow up the problem solving and continuous improvement activities to secure a sustainable quality output of the supplier towards BT;

• The problem solving and/or improvement initiatives covers the entire life cycle of the product delivered out of allocated supplier manufacturing sites. (Output of reviews such as FRACAS, Change Control Board, Safety Board that require SQE activities at the supplier will be executed by SQA Engineering with support of the Lead SQA as applicable);

• Responsible for undertaking Supplier Approvals in accordance to Bombardiers Strategic Approval Assessments and Product Approval Assessments.



• Education: Engineering degree or equivalent;

• Typically 2-3 years’ experience in a relevant role e.g. Quality and or Operations role;

• Practical experience in supplier audits;

• Experience in Product /Quality Planning;

• Experience in Operational and Quality Methods (e.g. 6-Sigma, Lean, QMB etc.);

• Specialized or cross-functional knowledge / relevant experience required by the position/role;

• Proficiency in BT’s Integrated Supplier Assessment framework (ISAF), PAP processes;

• Good knowledge of key procurement and supply chain processes;

• Good knowledge of IRIS and other relevant standards;

• Utilization of tools like SMIS, SAP;

• Knowledge of basic Quality skills (standards, tools),configuration & change management;

• Technical knowledge specific to assigned commodities;

• Expert knowledge of problem resolution/root cause analysis (8D, RCA, FMEA etc);

• Technical experience in operations, methods or engineering.
