We are currently looking for a

Senior Project Engineer for our location in Derby, United Kingdom

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will lead, manage and control all signalling engineering-related activities in the project to deliver on requirements, budget and schedule. Be technical representative to the project core team, supplier, customer and any external party.
Support project manager/director in all technical aspects within the project including incoming bids.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Bombardier external technical discussion duties with our Project Core Team.
• Coordinate customer design reviews and participate in internal design reviews, document minutes and actions
• Technical resource, budget and schedule control and reporting.
• Produce technical deliverables such as various technical documents, presentations and drawings
• Management of requirements and interfaces across multiple disciplines and stakeholders
• Support development of the project design schedule and participate in monitoring and progress reporting.
• Coordinate the preparation and/or write responses to customer technical correspondence through the Program Manager
• Update action items list on a regular basis, communicate problem areas to appropriate managers, monitor and report progress for timely resolution
• Coordinate design tasks of various cognizant engineers if needed. Ensure that all project related technical issues are closed per agreed project action item list and schedule

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• University Degree or HNC in relevant Engineering discipline such as Electronic or Mechanical
• Working experience either in Project Management, Bids, Sales, Contracts & Legal, Engineering or IT.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant project experience
• Railway signalling experience in the UK preferred but not essential
• Knowledge of Network Rail’s Railway Signalling standards and processes highly desirable
• A Project Engineer/ Engineering Manager IRSE License highly desirable
• Knowledge of using Microsoft Office is mandatory.
• Professional experience in the railway sector is considered a plus.
• Experience leading the technical work scope in complex projects.
• Multi-disciplinary experience will be highly advantageous
• Desired competencies: customer orientation, communication, planning, drive for results, flexibility
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• English at a business fluent level is mandatory for this role
