The role in Derby offers a great opportunity for someone who is innovative, knowledge-seeking and with passion for problem-solving. As a Supply Chain Coordinator, you will be responsible for supply chain strategy and commercial relationship with nominated suppliers, pricing for internal and external enquiries – Price changes, management of inventory parameters and stock reduction for designated parts.


• Supplier performance monitoring and performance reviews;

• Negotiate PO changes with suppliers to ensure due dates and quantities are aligned to fluctuations in Operations requirements;

• Drive process improvement and change management in OP function;

• Support the internal customers;

• Process supplier RFQs to support both project and external customers;

• Drive reductions in supplier lead times and costs;

• Implement supply chain solutions with suppliers e.g. Service Exchange, VMI, 2-bin, Kanban, Consignments, to minimize inventory costs and improve service level;

• Manage SAP exception messages daily;

• Challenge, mitigate and negotiate costs and report savings in SMIS or price change tracker;

• Maintain SAP database on Vendor pricing lead times and contract validity.



• University Degree or equivalent; CIPS qualification is a plus;

• Minimum 2 years of experience in deployment of Supply Chain Management strategies;

• Inventory management practices & techniques;

• Understanding of fleet maintenance material requirements;

• Working knowledge of SAP purchasing and inventory modules;

• Trained in LEAN and CI tools eg 3C, 5S;

• Competent in Excel at Intermediate level;

• Experienced negotiator in commercial contracts;

• Analytical skills;

• Excellent communicator including presentation skills;

• Manufacturing experience is a plus;

• Self-learner, able to work with minimum supervision;

• Proficiency in English, additional language (French) is a plus.
