Functional Architecture team is responsible to analyse and consolidate train level functional and operational requirements and design the functional architecture using Model Based Systems Engineering tools (SySML). You will build and maintain an integrated model for train functionality and derive functional requirements in IBM DOORS specifying the interface between different sub-systems, Conventional Train Control (CTC) and Train Control and Monitoring System (TCMS). You will focus on a given functional area to derive requirements, model the architecture, create satisfaction arguments, create test specifications, carryout functional testing on train and create test reports. Throughout this process, you will have the opportunity to interact with various stakeholders such as the system engineers, vehicle engineers, suppliers and the customer.

Bombardier Graduate Scheme is a 2-year programme aimed at bringing out the best out of the individual. You can expect to do placements across the various departments to gain a wider knowledge of the rail industry and an overall appreciation of the train functionality; including: Requirements Management, Systems Engineering, Verification Services, Project Engineering, Safety and Reliability and Design Assurance. On the job learning is complemented by a modular and personal development programme. Supported by a mentor you will work towards gaining relevant chartered status with one of the engineering bodies such as the IMechE or IET.

Qualifications

You will need a minimum 2:1 BEng or MEng, in Automotive, Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical, Electronic Engineering from courses with product integration and system engineering content. In addition, we seek applications from graduates with a BSc or MSc in Maths, Physics. Candidates must have excellent problem solving skills and a passion for making things happen.
