At Bombardier, our employees work together to develop mobility around the world, one good idea at a time. If you have a good idea, we'll provide the environment in which it will thrive and grow into a great product or customer experience.
Your ideas are our fuel.
In your role, you will
- Work within the Loads and Dynamics group of Technical Engineering
- Perform aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic simulations in support of new aircraft design studies and continued airworthiness of in-service aircraft
- Perform dynamic aeroelastic response analyses for tuned discrete gust and continuous turbulence with and without the effects from fly-by-wire
- Contribute to growing the Dynamics engineering Knowledge Domain by proposing the approaches and techniques to improve the efficiency and fidelity of aircraft aeroelastic simulations.
- Use engineering judgment on selecting the appropriate methods, techniques, and tools in resolving complex issues
- Develop and maintain finite element models to perform aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic analysis
- Participate in the research and development of computational aeroelasticity and support to ground and flight testing
- Integrate activities with other groups, such as Advanced Design, Aerodynamics, Structures, Mass Properties, Flight Controls and Control Laws
- Participate in aeroelastic analysis, ground vibration testing, flight flutter testing, wind tunnel testing and report writing to support compliance with certification requirements specified in 14 CFR 25.629 / AWM 525.629 / CS 25.629
As our ideal candidate
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. A high education would be an asset
- You have at least 15 years of experience in Loads and Dynamics in the aerospace industry
- You have a good understanding of FAR 25 certification requirements
- You have previous experience in flight flutter testing and ground vibration testing
- You have a strong background in static and dynamic aeroelastic analysis
- You have previous experience using MSC Nastran for Dynamic/Aeroelastic analysis; DMAP is an asset
- You have previous experience in frequency-based data analysis
- You have a good understanding of aeroelastic FEM: unsteady aerodynamics, structures, weight and inertia
- You have excellent ability to work in a team of engineers
- You have good analytical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to work under pressure
- You have good organizational skills in planning work activities and complete tasks within budget and on schedule
- You can use Windows and Linux / Unix operating systems
