Join us as a Communications Manager,and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Edmonton.

As a Communications Manager, you will be develop and implement the Edmonton Valley Line Southeast (VLS) LRT system Operations & Maintenance Communications Plan as described in the Edmonton VLS Project Agreement. The Communications Manager may be either a full-time role or a part time role.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Develop and implement strategic communications and marketing plans for the Valley Line Southeast (VLS) LRT Operations;

- Communicate with stakeholders about all matters relating to the VLS LRT services, including customer service, service interruptions, customer complaints and support for the City of Edmonton’s marketing initiatives;

- Revise or develop social media communication plans and protocols with information relevant to the LRT system services and ensure that social media initiatives are used to provide passengers with accurate information regarding service interruptions and system special events;

- Establish a strategy of how best to target applicable Communications Stakeholder groups with the Passenger and Public Safety Outreach Program.


Key requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Affairs or related field. Associate’s degree in same combined with related experience acceptable;
- Minimum ten (10) years of corporate communications or public affairs in a corporate, public service, political or agency environment;
- Demonstrated negotiation, problem-solving and priority-setting abilities;
- strong media relations skills, along with knowledge of how to communicate public policy issues;
- English perfectly spoken and written.
