Based in Virginia, US, you will direct and coordinate activities of industrial organization to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits. You will direct rail maintenance operations through a team of functional managers and front line supervisors. You will also ensure increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and trainset reliability and availability.

In your role you will:

- Plan, develop and implement organization policies and goals;
- Coordinate activities of divisions or departments to insure compliance with FRA and FTA regulations, collective bargaining agreements, quality and maintenance and safety to effect operational efficiency and economy;
- Analyze department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and allocates operating budget;
- Confer with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required;
- Direct preparation of directives to division or department administrator outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented;
- Act as a liaison with customer, operating departments, and outside agencies with respect to maintenance of equipment and all issues arising from such;
- Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate improvements and improve working relationships;
- Ensure customer needs and expectations are addressed in a timely and efficient manner;
- Identify maintenance trends and issues and develop programs and procedures to ensure fleet reliability and availability;
- Discuss inspection and repair violations with federal and public representatives to solve concerns, such as time of repair, repair cost, and methods of preventing future violations;
- Undertake projects, prepare reports and perform other duties as directed by the board of Directors.


As our ideal candidate:

- You have fifteen (15) years of progressive increase and the responsibility of senior management experience in the rail industry (preferably Passenger Rail);
- You own working knowledge of all State, Municipal and Local regulatory requirements including CFR and OSHA;
- You have excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
