About the role:
The candidate will be responsible for implementing software that is used to support the testing, commissioning, and operation of the communication systems within Bombardier’s Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) projects. The candidate will maintain software, perform fixes and updates, and participate in formal reviews.

Key Responsibilities :

• Software design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Interface with engineers of other disciplines working on train control subsystems for Bombardier’s CBTC solutions.
• Must be a team player, able to proficiently work with others (including different cultures).
• Develop and maintain documentation and evidence for compliance to CENELEC, IRIS, and other standards.
• Responsible for schedule-driven deliverables such as documentation, software configuration, software releases, bug fixes, and new feature implementation
• Must be able to support multiple projects simultaneously.
• Product development and planning for future generations of software.

Education required: Required: BS in CS/CE/EE, preferred MS in IS/CS/CE

Qualifications

Technical skills/knowledge :

• 2+ years of experience required with
o OOP
o C# .NET programming
o XML
o VBScript/VBA
o Sockets
o WPF

• 3+ years designing graphical user interfaces with strong understanding of multi window applications, preferably with Video content from streams or cameras
• Solid understanding of UDP and TCP/IP sockets. Preferably, the candidate should have experience implementing SNMP, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC, and CCTV Camera interface protocols.
• Familiarity with multi-threading concepts.
• Experience programming GDI/GDI+ graphical applications.
• Experience with WPF is a plus, but not required.
• Experience working in Linux an advantage
• Experience using .NET profiling tools.
• Working knowledge of Configuration Management tools
• Adheres to coding standard and best practices.
• Knowledge of Ethernet networks.
• Knowledge of RF communications.
• Experience writing software design documents, software requirements specifications, test procedures, and managing requirements.
• The candidate is expected to be familiar with the entire design and development cycle.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware and software related issues that may span multiple subsystems.
• Superior verbal/written communications skills for effective interfacing with non-specialist technical team members. Occasional opportunities to act as a trainer to technical field site personnel.
