The Lead A&P Technician, in a working capacity and in conjunction with the supervisor, oversees daily activities for an assigned functional area of Bombardier Business Aircraft Services (i.e., Quality, Maintenance / Operations, Line Maintenance, Interiors, Exterior Finish, Building Maintenance, Open / Close, etc). Specific Group Leader responsibilities may vary based upon assigned area.

In your role, you will:
• Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements (Factory, Shop and / or Hangar positions
• Comply with Environmental / Health / Safety policies and procedures. Participate in 5-S activities. Perform all work in a safe and timely manner
• Coordinate workload, overtime and job assignments for team members in assigned functional area
• Provide technical guidance and expertise to assigned employees in order to promote acquisition of technical proficiency and trouble shoot problems for assigned area(s)
• Monitor day-to-day activities for assigned area and report issues and risks to immediate supervisor
• Assist in establishing a training plan for assigned area
• Provide general assistance to Lead Technicians, Technicians, Quality Inspectors, and Project Managers by providing Maintenance Manual references, IPC references, Component Maintenance Manual references, and CAMP Cards as required for all aircraft Service Orders generated in the Hangar.
• Write Service orders, Component Service Orders, and transfer into the Network Database when requested from Lead Techs and Project Managers.
• Assemble and organize photos, data sheets, and various materials in order to generate SRPSA’s and R.E.D.’s in Salesforce for the Maintenance Dept. Be a point of contact for fact finding and answering of questions from Montreal and Wichita Engineering concerning SRPSA’s and R.E.D.’s.
• Assist Customers (D.O.M.’s and maintenance representatives) with researching damage history of aircraft they are representing during prebuy inspections. Research involves Lotus Notes Databases and Salesforce.
• Research Drawings and order parts needed by Contractors (such as Sonic Technicians) who do not have access to Metaweb and SAP.
• Contact Vendors (Rolls-Royce, Messier-Dowty, Pratt & Whitney) as required when Engineering assistance is required. Submit data into Vendor Portals (Rolls-Royce Care, Honeywell’s MyAerospace, Etc.) as needed, to begin receiving assistance.
• Be a point of contact for Montreal and Wichita Customer Support by providing manpower estimates, a Service Center perspective, and tooling availability in regards to their Service Bulletin Proofs and Projects that are in development.
• Provide Maintenance Manual references, IPC references, Component Maintenance Manual references, and TLMC/STLMC tasks, and generate SRPSA’s for the Planning department as requested for service orders generated by Planning for incoming aircraft.
• Provide assistance to the Purchasing Dept. (Buyers) with numerous requests concerning drawings, IPC references, SRPSA’s, and part obsolescence research.
• Submit User Comments and recommend changes to Maintenance Manuals, IPC’s, Service Bulletins etc.


As our ideal candidate:
• You would typically have a minimum of 8 years aircraft maintenance experience or substantiated equivalent experience in functional area


• You would typically have a minimum of 5 years aircraft maintenance experience or substantiated equivalent experience in functional area with typically a minimum of 2 years leadership / supervisory experience (Aircraft Maintenance preferred)
• You would typically have a minimum of 2 year of corporate aircraft experience
• You would typically have a minimum of 1 year of Bombardier aircraft model experience
• You exhibit effective leadership skills
• You have a high School Diploma or equivalent
• You have an A&P certification
• You have the ability necessary to train employees in the performance of duties within area of specialization
• You have demonstrated planning / organizational and time management skills necessary to prioritize, assign and coordinate workload of team members within a multiple project setting
• You have interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with assigned employees, other business areas, contractors, vendors and customers
• You have proficient PC skills to include Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint, and outlook
• You have the ability to type (approximately 35 wpm)
• You have the ability to create service orders with SAP or applicable operating systems
• You have the ability to forecast and provide job estimates
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills
