Purpose of the job

Based in one of the regional hubs (Berlin, Hennigsdorf, London, Derby, Wrozlaw or Katowice) and reporting to the Global Category Lead Corporate Services, you will manage HR sub-categories globally. Category Manager develops and executes global category strategies. (S)he manages global suppliers and develops value-adding supplier relationships as well as manages performance of global suppliers. Category manager is responsible for meeting the IGS targets in his/her scope.

Your Tasks

Manage global sub-category/ies in own scope globally:

• Prepare category strategy for the sub-categories in his/her scope;

• Identify global or regional sourcing initiatives;

• Establish the category pan for their implementation;

Implement global sub-category/ies in own scope globally:

• Manage RFPx to deliver the category plan;

• Lead negotiations with global or regional suppliers to deliver the category plan;

• Prepare contracts and communicate them to the local procurement hubs and clusters for deployment;

• Deliver savings and cost reductions in line with the Global Category targets;

Supplier relationship management:

• Manage existing relationships to global or regional suppliers and conduct Quarterly Performance Reviews;

• Develop new relationships with global and regional suppliers in his/her sub-categories;

• Ensure that risk management is in place and the services quality is compliant with BT quality standards;

Collaborate with the local procurement organisations (clusters and hubs) to integrate needs of the local business and capabilities of the local supply markets into the global category strategy as well as to help local procurement organisations deploy global category strategies locally.

Collaborate with the global functional stakeholders and local site heads in order to confirm their buy-in into global category strategies and their deployment globally and locally.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or equivalent disciplines;

• 8-10 years in category management and strategic sourcing;

• Experience across Indirect Categories in the area of Corporate Services, ideally with HR Services (recruitment, payroll, global mobility, compensation & benefits, and Learning & Development); exposure to multi-category environment as sourcing manager or category manager;

• Proven Category Management expertise with multi-site exposure; ideally experience in leading regional (EMEA, NAM, APAC) or global indirect category initiatives;

• Proven ability to identify, communicate to global and regional stakeholders and contribute to securing their buy-in for implementation of global category strategies.

• CIPS Qualification: Student or Advanced CIPS Diploma;

• Fluent English Level C1 mandatory, German and/or French (B2 minimum) is a plus.
