Bombardier’s Business Aircraft London Service Centre in Biggin Hill is part of an award-winning network and is the flagship of Bombardier’s European operation. This Base and Line Maintenance Centre is the fastest-growing Service Centre in Europe and the largest Business Aircraft OEM in the UK.

The current expansion of the London Service Centre will introduce sought-after capabilities and state-of-the-art installations, such as component painting and interior refurbishment capabilities, component repair and overhaul workshops and training rooms.

Bombardier Aerospace is seeking Sheet Metal Workers for its new Service Centre located at the London Biggin Hill Airport, United Kingdom

In your role, you will:

- Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft

- Fabricate and or modify structural components

- Perform major structural repairs and minor structural repairs on composite components either attached or detached

- Assist in conducting hidden damage inspection of aircraft structures

- Assist with complex structural repairs either on or off aircraft

- Assist with aircraft component repair

- Remove / install aircraft components as required

- Comply with environmental health and safety policies/procedures

- Perform work in a safe and timely manner

- Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required

- Operate ground support equipment as required

- Assist with mechanical / electrical removals and installations as needed

- Assist with maintenance at off-site locations as needed

- Assist with towing aircraft as needed

- Assist with other maintenance disciplines as needed

- Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements for factory, shop and/or hanger positions

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,

-
You have received training from a sheet metal aircraft technical school / you have completed an apprenticeship in the relevant field

-
You typically have 5 years of structural sheet metal repair / modification experience or substantiated similar experience

You have the ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings

You have the ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status

You own a basic set of hand tools with the ability to demonstrate Inventory and control of tools

You have the ability to obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment (GSE) qualifications as required

You are able to work unscheduled overtime including nonscheduled workdays and holidays

You are able to work in seasonal/inclement weather outside

-
You have experience on corporate jet aircraft (preferred)

You have basic PC skills
